چکیده

In this article the quantum chemically calculated charge density distribution of 18-crown-6 and the K+ . . .l8-crown-6 complex are compared with the charge density distribution of smaller molecules and corresponding complexes which can be considered as fragments of the 18-crown-6 molecule. An analysis of the charge density distribution in terms of atomic charge distribution according to the stockholder recipe gives accurate rules for the transferability of the charge density distribution. This gives us the possibility to construct the charge density distribution of large molecules out of accurate large basis set results on small molecules.

Variational Implicit-Solvent Modeling of Host–Guest Binding: A Case Study on Cucurbit[7]uril|

The synthetic host cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) binds aromatic guests or metal complexes with ultrahigh affinity compared with that typically displayed in protein-ligand binding. Due to its small size, CB[7] serves as an ideal receptor-ligand system for developing computational methods for molecular recognition. Here, we apply the recently developed variational implicit-solvent model (VISM), numeric...

Investigate formation constant of some Amino Acids by p-sulphonato-calix (4) arene in Aqueous Solution

The formation constants (log K), of the complexes formed between a number of amino acids(glycine , L-valine and L-alanine) with p-sulfonatocalix [4] arene at varying temperatures (25± 0.1to 65 ± 0.1 °C) in aqueous solutions and at natural pH of p-sulphonato-calix [4] arene (pH=3.2) bymeans of UV-Vis spectrophotometeric technique have been investigated. At this pH the guestmolecule is in its cat...

Theoretical study of - stacking interactions in substituted-coronene||cyclooctatetraene complexes: A system without direct electrostatic effects of substituents

Stability of the ;-; stacking interactions in the substituted-coronene||cyclooctatetraene complexes wasstudied using the computational quantum chemistry methods (where || denotes ;–; stackinginteraction, and substituted-coronene is coronene which substituted with four similar X groups; X =OH, SH, H, F, CN, and NO). There are meaningful correlations between changes of geometricalparameters and t...

Cyclodextrin-based supramolecular nanoparticles stabilized by balancing attractive host-guest and repulsive electrostatic interactions.

Multicomponent, negatively charged supramolecular nanoparticles (SNPs) were formed by multivalent host-guest interactions without the need of a stopper in water and in PBS. Their size and stability are controlled owing to a balance of forces between attractive supramolecular and repulsive electrostatic interactions.

Rationally designed cooperatively enhanced receptors to magnify host-guest binding in water.

When disengaged interactions within a receptor are turned on by its guest, these intrahost interactions will contribute to the overall binding energy. Although such receptors are common in biology, their synthetic mimics are rare and difficult to design. By engineering conflictory requirements between intrareceptor electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions, we enabled complementary guests to e...

Quantification of CH-π Interactions Using Calix[4]pyrrole Receptors as Model Systems.

We describe the use of two series of aryl-extended calix[4]pyrrole receptors bearing two and four electronically tunable phenyl groups, respectively, in their meso-positions as model systems for the quantification of CH-π interactions in solution. The "four-wall" and the "two-wall" receptors formed thermodynamically stable 1:1 complexes in acetonitrile solution with both trimethylamine N-oxide ...
